The best games of E3 2014 – Ori & The Blind Forest, Inside, Abzu

The biggest gaming conference of the year – E3, has come and gone. That week teased the most amazing games that will be available in the future and being a hard-core gamer it was very overwhelming. Among all the games announced, these three are the ones I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on.

Ori & The Blind Forest

Ori and the Blind Forest

Developed by Moon Studios- a worldwide collaboration of designers and programmers, this beautifully designed game is all set to take your breath away. Moon Studios has put in four years in Ori’s development. The game’s visual style is a “love letter” to games of past generations and the experiences of the developers’ lives. According to its developers, this game draws inspiration from the modern Rayman games, Child of Light, Mario, Super Meat boy and uses Ubisoft’s UbiArt engine.

Each graphic in the world is hand drawn and carefully crafted. Visually stunning effects will bring these to life, thereby ensuring an immersive game. If you’re a fan of the likes of Limbo and Child of Light, Ori & the Blind Forest is one game you definitely have to check out!

Ori & the Blind Forest will be out this Fall for the Xbox One and PC.

Playdead, the developers behind the brilliant puzzle platformer Limbo, have been working on this game for the past four years. The previews of “Inside” shown at E3 promises that his game will be just as brilliant!

Set in what seems to be a sadistic industrial work camp, the protagonist will be journeying through stark environments that are massive, seeking a way out of (or into?) the camp. It’s a side scrolling 2D game and the gameplay looks similar to Limbo. It will be interesting to see how the game engages the players this time around.

Inside will be available on the Xbox in 2015.

Being developed by the new studio Giant Squid, Abzu is set in a underwater world and has the protagonist swimming among sharks and massive whales. The visuals as you can see from the video is pretty awesome too.

Remember Journey with its soulful music and the stunning art style? The studio behind Abzu was founded by Matt Nava -the art director of Journey. The music too will be composed by Austin Wintory, the award-winning composer of the Journey. Abzu has all the makings of being a great game when its released.

The game will make its exclusive console debut on the PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016.
