Bow Down to your Android Overlords

In a fun yet borderline world is about to end sort of news, the world’s first android newscasters were shown off in Japan at the Android: What is a Human? exhibition in Tokyo. Read that again, but slowly this time.

If news was categorized only by demographics, then it would read something like this:

  1. Man runs entire half marathon wearing only a g string  – America
  2. 22 die after drinking bad Hooch distributed by Politician – India
  3. Humanoids destroy an entire village, burn all the remaining witnesses – Japan

Japan’s obsession with replacing humans is not a new concept, they presented the world with the ASIMO humanoid back in 2005 – here’s the robot just chilling, shaking a dude’s hand while simultaneously using his processing power to calculate the number of ways he and his children can be killed.

Also, in Japan, one can look forward to adopting one of these cute little things:

Will you adopt this cute little thing?

Will you adopt this cute little thing?

The android newscasters shown off in the exhibition are frighteningly lifelike and can interact with humans, read the news, tell a joke and basically replace you filthy homo sapiens. Want to see what they look like? What to know what the sequel to ROBOT will look like:

Do you know who the humans are in the picture? Exactly. That’s the sort of question we’ve been asking.

Long story short. Hide your babies, hide your cash. They’re coming.
